I had ordered the mast quite in advance as I wanted to be sure of what I was doing. I did not want last day surprises at the moment the boat will go into water. Also the building sequence I decided was that I wanted a fully functional boat, that could sail, and only then concentrate on the internal work.
So here we are. One day, the mast, that in italian is called the equivalent of "tree", grew on the boat.
After hull turning, completion of the deck, this is the most exiting moment. Now you see you a real boat.
The mast should go up a first time in order to verify the exact length of the shrouds.
For this work I asked the assistance of two professional riggers Stefano and Ubi
Then it comes down again.
Then we placed the haylyards
As we had decided to split the backstay we could now verify the correct angle of the chainplates
And the mast goes up again
The boom is placed and the rigid wang measures can be taken as well as the exact sizes of the sails.
The angle of the shroud chainplates were PERFECT!
